Abstract

DwiWahyono, Hartotok. Q100160043. Cultivation of Discipline Character in Extracurricular Scout Activity in SMK IT MA'I AL-MA'RUF TjiptoSubadi and Warohturrohmah. Thesis. Graduate program. Muhammadiyah Surakarta university. 2017 The purpose of this study is to examine and describe: 1) Support of subject teachers in planting the character of discipline on students in SMK IT MA'I ALMA'RUF; 2) Student response in the planting of discipline character through extracurricular scout activities in SMK IT MA'I AL-MA'RUF; 3) The effort of teachers in planting student discipline character through extracurricular scout activities in SMK IT MA'I AL-MA'RUF; and 4) Implementation of scout extracurricular activities in instilling student discipline character in SMK IT MA'I AL-MA'RUF. This research uses qualitative approach with phenomenology design. The subjects of this study are students, scouts, teachers and principals in SMK IT MA'I AL- MA'RUF. Techniques Data collection uses in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Technique validity of data in this research use triangulation of source with triangulation technique. Data analysis using Phenomenology Perspective model with data collection process, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study are: (1) the cooperation of all teachers with the existing stakeholders is necessary for the progress of school and the implementation of an activity. In addition to cooperation, there is a regular evaluation to see whether or not the activities of the school are effective; (2) Student response to an activity must be balanced with support from all parties in the school environment; (3) for students in a school to have a character discipline, a school should facilitate students with activities that can support the development of student character; (4) The implementation of well structured and coordinated activities will result in quality and qualified activities and for an activity to be carried out in accordance with the stated objectives.
