Abstract

The presence of puddles in the poor drainage system leads to damage to road construction, especially on flexible pavements. Such as AC-BC and AC-WC layer which is the top layer of road construction. The AC-BC layer is a layer that lies beneath the wear layer so that the effect on the large traffic load. Consequences impact on the ability of construction as well as the power of road construction, especially seen from the influence of water, therefore researchers want to study how aspects of the ability of construction (structural value) material, when affected by the immersion period (puddle). This study aimsnto determine the structural value of materials and the relative strength coefficient value after the occurrence of immersion. This study uses secondary data as the main data source. Based on the properties of existing materials or materials then analyzed data sbit, smix, until the value obtained by empirical relative strength coefficient based on the formula Van Der Poel and Shell Petroleum. Furthermore, the parameters of existing structural values are further analyzed based on variations in the effect of immersion duration due to waterlogging. The ratio of the duration of the immersion in the AC-BC mixture was 0.5 hours; 24 hours;n48 hours; 96nhours; 168 hours and on the AC-WC mixture is 0.5 hours; 24 hours; 48 hours, so it can be analyzed the influence of the variation of immersion at that time. The resultnof the research shows that the duration of immersion to AC-BC and AC-WC mixture has an effect on the structural value of the material. The tendency in general is the longer the immersion, the ability of coefficient value of materials tends to decrease. The result of structural value analysis on AC-BC mixture obtained by the value of relative coefficient respectively per variation of 0.5 hour immersion; 24 hours; 48 hours; 96 hours; 168 hours ie: 0.295; 0.272; 0.250; 0.246; 0,234 and at AC-WC mixture obtained by relative coefficient value per variation of 0.5 hour immersion; 24 hours; 48 hours ie: 0.245; 0.240; 0.235.
