Abstract
Paving block is one of layer compiler pavement materials which is very environmentally friendly. Searching Paving block that has good strength, various studies were conducted to find out variety of alternative materials for producing efficient paving block and having good characteristic. One of them with the variation of cement quantity with added calcite material is expected to increase the compressive strength of paving block.Variations of the amount of cement used are 1 : 10 , 1 : 9 , 1 : 8, 1 : 7, 1: 6 with added calcite material 10% of cement comparison variation and compressive strength testing of paving block is conducted at the age of 14 days. materials used in this study are sand, cement and calcite added materials. Research of cement added variation with 10% calcite material from each cement variation with fas 0,25 - 0,30. Each manufacture of 1 sample of paving by assuming 4 kg density and each comparison needs 5 samples. With variations of 1: 10, 1: 9, 1: 8, 1: 7, 1: 6 for comparison variation 1; 10 need 3.63 kg of sand, 0.363 kg of cement and 0.036 kg of calcite to produce average compressive strength of each sample 64.58 kg / cm2. Comparison variation 1 ; 9 needs 3.6 kg of sand, 0.4 kg of cement and 0.04kg calcite to produce average press of each sample 66.67 kg / cm2. Comparison variation 1 ; 8 needs 3.55 kg of sand, 0.44 kg of cement and 0.044kg calcite to produce average press of each sample 91,32 kg/cm2 . Comparison variation 1; 7 needs 3.5 kg of sand, 0.5 kg of cement and 0.05kg calcite to produce average press of each sample 92,36 kg/cm2 . Comparison variation 1; 6 needs 3.42 kg of sand, 0.57 kg of cement and 0.057kg calcite to produce average press of each sample 111,46 kg/cm2. From the results of the study, variation of cement addition with added calcite material produces the highest compressive strength from comparison 1: 6 with a compressive strength of 111.46 kg / cm2.
