Abstract
In the world of manufacturing industry each day is always required to improve quality and efficiency in the manufacturing process of the product. Punching tool tool isgreat for making products with sheet metal materials with large quantities and in the form of a uniform, highly effective, efficient and also very easy to use. But in making the tool of tool need a calculation ofpunching punctilious calculationof clearance, especially because the clearance very influential towards the height of the burr, the higher the quality of the product then becomes the burr.This research aims to know the height of the burr resulting from the different variations of the size of the clearance process in punching dies using the aluminum plate thickness 1 mm. Size of the clearance that is used, among others, 0.02 mm/side and 0.04 mm/ side.The research results obtained from an altitude of burr as follows. At 0.02 mm clearance altitude produces burr 0.5 mm to the right and to the left of 0.65 mm whereas the clearance of 0.04 mm produce height 0.7 mm burr the right and 0.76 mm to the left. Burr's most high resulting from the clearance of 0.04 mm with a height of0.7 mm or burr the right. While most small burr height resulting from the clearance of 0.02 mm with a height of 0.5 mm or burr the right.
