Abstract

Traffic conditions in the city of Surakarta experienced problems in the form of congestion. This makes Dishub Surakarta Change One Way System (SSA), one of them in Purwosari-Gendengan segment. This study aims to determine the condition of intersection performance Purwosari intersection and the surrounding road segment after the SSA, then compare it with performance conditions when the segment is still two directions. This research uses secondary data (peak hour traffic flow, capacity, segment, and performance of segment before SSA) from Dishub Surakarta and primary data (geometry condition, environment, and traffic flow data). The survey was conducted for one day at the peak hour of the morning (06.00-09.00 GMT) dated October 19, 2016. Performance analysis using MKJI method (Manual of Indonesia Road Capacity) 1997. The performance of the intersection is expressed in degree of saturation, delay of intersection and queue probability, while the performance of segment in degree of saturation and level of service. The result of analysis shows the traffic flow of the intersection of the intersection in the morning of 5891,9 pcu/hour, the value happened at 06.30-07.30 GMT. The performance of the intersection after SSA has passed the saturated value, it is marked by the DS value of 1,634 is greater than the provisions MKJI 1997. The performance of the segment after SSA is in stable condition, it can be known from the DS value of all sections less than 0,75 with service level C. When compared to the performance of intersections and segments prior to SSA, the result is an intersection performance altogether in unstable conditions. This is indicated by the DS value before the SSA also passes the saturated DS value of 1,76. The performance of the segment after the SSA is more stable than before the SSA, because on one of the road segments before the SSA experiences a saturation value of 0,91 with service level D.
