Abstract
This study aims to describe the role of teachers in planting the character of responsibility in the learning process of case studies in teachers of Pancasila and Citizenship Education in SMP Negeri 2 Kartasura), covering the role of teachers, supporting factors and inhibiting factors. This research uses qualitative research, with case study. Technique of data collecting done by observation, interview, documentation. Test the validity of data with triangulation of data sources and data collection techniques. Data processing instruments use interactive analysis techniques through data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that the role of teachers in planting the character of responsibility that is to provide motivation and direction to learners, to teach to always be independent, give a reprimand to the students if making mistakes. Factors supporting the planting character independence and responsibility that is the support of the school, family support and student learning environment. Factors that inhibit the planting of the character of responsibility that is the age of students who are still unstable, the lack of motivation from within students, and the association of students.
