Abstract

Various types of air cleaner used in the air system is very influential on the cleanliness of air into the combustion chamber. The purpose of this analysis is to know the cause of the failure of air cleaner type oil bath unit Foton FT 824 which is used in Shantui Loader SL 30W unit by calculating compressor manifold absolute pressure (MAP) pressure pressure ratio and rotation on each turbocharger unit. The data collection for calculation analysis is done by knowing the engine specification of each unit, engine power, engine rotation, displacement, brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC), volumetric efficiency, and air fuel ratio (AFR). Then do the calculation analysis on turbocharger using equation according to journal Garret Turbocharger Guide Volume 4 (Northop, Jack and Harry Wetzel, 2011). The result of calculation of turbocharger at Foton FT 824 is obtained by compressor MAP pressure 16,089 Psia with pressure ratio 1,094 at round 123760 Rpm. In Shantui Loader SL 30W unit obtained MAP compressor pressure of 22.856 Psia with pressure ratio 1.554 at 192160 Rpm round. So that the result of calculation analysis of turbocharger on Shantui Loader SL 30W unit bigger than Foton FT 824 unit cause oil on air cleaner type oil bath which used in Shantui Loader SL 30W go up to engine combustion chamber.
