Abstract
This study aims to (1) describe the types of error that are often made about the student in completing operations fractions, (2) to know what the factors causes of student errors in solve the problems about completing operations fractions, (3) describe the percentage of fault in each student errors in solve the problems about completing operations fractions. This research is a qualitative research. The subject of this research is the students of class VII K SMP N 2 Toroh around 25 students. Data collection was performed by the method, interview, test, and documentation. Validation of data using triangulation technique by comparing the result of data test and the result of data interview. The results showed that the types of errors that the students misunderstanding the concept with a percentage of 56%. Error receiving the information with a percentage of 70%, and error in counting with a percentage of 84%. The reasons of the students to make mistakes include the students are less thorough in understanding the problem and calculate the problem, the students are still confused how to solve the problem, the students have not understand with the material, students do not know the formula, students are less practice with various question or, and students are too hasty when doing the question.
