Abstract

In essence, worship in Islam is one means of unifying, glue the relationship of closeness and intimacy and strengthening the bond of love between fellow Muslims. Among the evidence that shows this is the whole of the Muslims - wherever they are, whatever their background, language and color - when performing the prayers, they all face one direction in the same direction of the direction of Qiblah. However, if we look at the reality of some Indonesian people today, we will find many conflicts, controversies and divisions, even in some instances until there is a commotion, blame and mutual conviction of heresy when there are differences of opinion in some of the issues relating to movements of prayer, whereas - as we all know together - the majority of Muslims in Indonesia adhered to a jurisprudence of fiqh, the jurisprudence of Imam Shafi'i. The researchers note that one of the reasons for this difference is the spread of the opinions of some of the most well-known and recognized scholars of modern scholars in the Islamic world, but they do not embrace the Shafi'i school in this country and the hearing of some Indonesians with their opinions. One of the modern scholars is Shaykh Muhammad ibn Shalih al-'Uthaimin. This study aims to determine the extent to which the points of similarities and differences between the opinions selected by Sheikh Muhammad bin Salih al-'Uthaimin with the opinions held by scholars of the Shafi'i School in some issues related to the prayer movements and the reasons behind the difference of opinion between them by doing research on the opinions selected by Sheikh Muhammad bin Salih al-'Uthaymeen and the opinions held by the scholars of Shafi'i school in these matters then compare the two. The problems are: the limitation of raising both hands when takbiratul ihram, the place of putting the hands after takbiratul ihram, the place of putting the hands after rising from the ruku ', the ordinance of descending to prostration, sitting rest before rising to the second or fourth rak'ah , qunut in the dawn prayer, the sitting procedure for tasyahud in the dawn prayer, wiggling the index finger while sitting tasyahud. In this study, researchers took an analytical descriptive approach. After the study, it was concluded that in the matter of the ordinance of descending to prostration, the opinion chosen by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Shalih al-'Uthaimin is similar to that held by the scholars of the Shafi'i school. However, in other problems, there is a difference between the two.
