Abstract

The watershed destruction in the Siborgonyi River at Jayapura has triggered erosion. The erosion material will settles in the downstream of Siborgonyi River. It causesthe narrowing of river channel that reduces the river capacity. It becomes the factor of flood. This researchgoal is to predict the erosion rate and hazard in the downstream watershed of Siborgonyi River. This research uses USLE method by using the rain erosivity and the slope slant of experts parameter. This method uses rainfall during 13 years, land use system, slope slant and length data. The analysis results are according to Asdak that the erosion rate is 8,64 ton / year and erosion hazard level is 7,71 ton / year, according to Lenvain that the erosion rate is 9,40 ton / year and erosion hazard levelis 8.40 ton / year, according to Utomo and Supriyadi thatthe erosion rate is 6.67 ton / year and erosion hazard level is 7.43 ton / year.
