Abstract
This study aims to predict the distribution of temperature and airflow patterns in a class room with dimension of 10.45 m x 8.1 m x 3.93 m due to the existence of an air conditioner. The research stages were conducted in two stages, first performing a direct measurement of the air velocity and temperature distribution within the space at predetermined measurement points by 3 different temperature setting treatments, and secondly predicting airflow characteristics by simulation approach (CFD). The steady RANS simulation applied the k - epsilon turbulence model with three different structured mesh types up to 973,651 elements. The mesh type capable of producing simulation data closest to the temperature measurement data will be further developed to investigate indoor air circulation due to the effect of temperature AC which has been measurable Based on the validation result, the type of C mesh will produce the smallest error value with percentage of the accuracy around 98.94% and AC placement variations on CFD have the lowest average value. Therefore, the temperature validation will be performed on both validations. Research about variations of AC temperature change got result that there is an increase about the average room’s temperature from 18°C, 20°C, dan 30°C.
