Abstract

ABSTRACT STUDY PROGRAM S1 PHYSIOTHERAPY FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCE UNIVERSITY MUHAMMADIYAH OF SURAKARTA MINITHESIS, OCTOBER 2017 IRFA KHOIRUDDIN / J 120 120 063 EFFECT OF KINESIO TAPING TO DECREASE UPPER TRAPEZIUS PAIN MUSCLE FOR PORTER IN PASAR GEDE SURAKARTA (Guided by Dwi Rosella Komala Sari, S. Fis., M. Fis., Dipl. CIDESCO) Background : Fatigue is a mechanism of protection from the body, so that the body avoid further injury so that recovery occurs after the break. The effects of lifting on Kinesio Taping affect the lymphatic system, when inflammation of the lymphatic system in superficial and deep limfatic vessels will be full with the effect of lifting when applied. Kinesio Taping helps the lymphatic flow to normal and decreased inflammation, resulting in less pain and abnormal sensation Research Purpose : To know the effect of Kinesio Taping giving to Upper Trapezius muscle pain collecting on porters at Pasar Gede Surakarta. Research Metode : This research was a Quasi Experimental approach with pre and post test design with control group design. Respondents from this research is 20 people, 10 people as treatment group and 10 people as group control. This study was did for one week with the use of tapping for 3 days. Measurement of pain was done on pre intervention and evaluated on day 7 using the pain measurement (VAS). Data was analyzed using wilcoxon signed rank test and the different test using mann whitney test. Research finding : Applied of the kinesio tapping on respondents had the average value of pre-test in the control group mean 5.6 and the treatment group mean 6.1. While post test had an average value in the control group of 5.2 and the treatment group 4. There was an effect of kinesio taping on the decrease of pain based on wilcoxon signed rank test be obtained p-value value 0.004. Conclusion : There is has effect of kinesio taping on the decrease of upper trapezius muscle pain. Keywords : Pain, Kinesio Tapping, Porter
