Abstract

The urbanization flows from rural to urban population led to a significant increase in population resulting in the need for settlements in urban areas. The lower middle classes for economic, social, cultural and political reasons decided to look for a job in the city and then settle into a slum neighborhood around the suburbs. The existence of slums indirectly can have a negative impact on the environment causing natural, social, and artificial pathology in the surrounding area. Purwogondo is one of the slums located in Kecamatan Kartasura. The mapping of slum areas by Kotaku Sukoharjo District is used as a reference in the development of the region through the potential of the region. The purpose of this research is to revitalize slum settlements in Purwogondo Village as a desirable and sustainable home-based tourism interest village. The analysis is done macro and micro, the result of analysis is used as a reference in planning and designing Special Interest Village of Home Industry Tahu.
