Abstract

Asphalt Concrete (AC) and Hot Rolled Sheet (HRS) are frequently used flexible pavement in Indonesia. To find out the crack that occurs here the researcher will perform a tensile strength test using Indirect Tensile Strength (ITS) tool on the mixture, over time illegal and destructive natural rock mining is used as a building material to encourage the use of waste dismantled concrete for road mix pavement instead of aggregate. The purpose of this study was to analyze the tensile strength characteristics of AC-WC & HRS-WC mixtures using concrete waste instead of coarse aggregates. The research was conducted through several stages of testing the quality of the material referring to the general specification of Bina Marga Revision III, looking for optimum asphalt content (KAO), then making specimens with 0%, 20%, and 40% concrete waste variations (KAO) Indirect Tensile Strength (ITS) follows the BSI 2003 standard. The result of this research for the mixture using fresh aggregate is ITS AC-WC = 807,284 KPa and ITS HRS- WC = 1101,721 KPa, then addition of concrete waste 20% yield ITS AC-WC = 797,445 KPa and ITS HRS- WC = 897,286 KPa, then the addition of 40% yields ITS AC-WC = 793,318 KPa and ITS HRS-WC = 849,812 KPa. Along with the addition of concrete waste variation the value of ITS decreased so the use of fresh aggregate as mixture is better than using concrete waste aggregate.
