Abstract
UKM as the producer of glass noodle with the brand “Burung Sriti” located in Tulung Klaten that producing glass noodle using the composition of sugar palm extract, in the manufacturing process has some steps lacked for auxiliary apparatus, for example mixing sugar palm extract step. The sugar palm extract mixer machine in this glass noodle UKM improper with ergonomic principle especially when operated the machine, operator need huge power for putting over the machine from one receptacle to another receptacle and it wasting time when set up the machine. Underlying those main problem, the researcher using reverse engineering method that aims to redesign sugar palm extract mixer machine in order to facilitate putting over the machine and reduce set up time of machine with the result that increase productivity. The comparasion result using reverse engineering method divided into 2 results based on the kind of machines, those are the old machine and the redesign machine. The result of the old machine indicate the set up time consuming about 7 minutes, the electrical consumption about Rp 8.807 day/machine, and the main production cost about Rp 2.261.000. Wherease the result of the redesign machine indicate the set up time consuming about a minute, the electrical consumption about Rp 1.181 day/machine, and the main production cost about Rp 1.298.000. The redesign machine has the effective way of putting over the machine with the helpful from stanchion and the using of bearing.
