Abstract

The need for electrical energy is no longer a public monopoly in urban areas, but it has become a daily necessity of all communities, including in rural areas. Therefore, the government should be able to provide services to consumers with good quality. Electrical systems between power plants and separate load centers within hundreds or thousands of kilometers, this great distances that can lead to energy losses, there are also factors that affect the occurrence of energy losses such as load imbalance, voltage drop, equipment life , Leakage of isolator and conductor diameter. The purpose of the research is to calculate the loss value - power loss and voltage drop. The calculations were performed by collecting data in March 2017 at the 150 kV Palur Substation and 150 kV Masaran. The researchers calculated during peak loads, at 10:00 and 19:00. Distance of 150 kV high-voltage transmission Palur Substation– Masaran Substation parentage 15 km, Resistance type using ACSR 240/40 conducting wire type with resistance value 0.119 Ω / Km. As a result of the calculation in March 2017 the percentage of voltage drop is still within the scope of tolerance as per PLN standard (SPLN) ie less than 10%. For the highest power losses occurred on the 18th reached 15,958 kW, while the lowest occurred on the 25th only reached 7,462 kW. Total power losses in March 2017 reached 384,025 kW. The effect of power lost by PT electricity provider. PLN (Persero) suffered cost loss reached Rp.434.716.300. Keywords: Power transmission, Voltage drop, power losses.
