Abstract

SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta. located on Jl. RM Said 35. Usage Learning method can give class atmosphere become more active and fun. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of Role Playing Learning Method (Role Playing) on the Earth's feasibility material for life. The method in this research is experiment with pretest-posttest control design design. The sample of this research is class X IIS 3 and X IIS 4. The experimental group is the group that get the learning process by Role Playing Method (Role Playing), while the control group is the group that gets the learning process using the lecture. The result of this research concludes that (1) The learning objective in SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta on the Earth's feasibility material for the life of the experimental class by using the role playing method can be achieved because the KKM value is fulfilled which is the lowest value obtained is 75. (2) The Mann Whitney test shows that there is no difference between the experimental class and the control class, but when viewed from the improvement of the learning outcomes in the experimental class and control class shows the increase of the mean value of learning in the experimental class shows the increase of the average score student learning amounted to 25.88 while the average value in the control class is only 13.39 then the average value of the students' learning outcomes of the experimental class is higher than in the control class.
