Abstract

The purpose of this study is to (1) describe the implementation of civic education in shaping the learning character manners grade IV SDN Singopadu 2016/2017 Lesson 2 years, (2) identify the obstacles faced in implement learning civics in shaping the character of courtesy grade IV SDN Singopadu 2016/2017 Lesson 2 years, and (3) describe efforts to overcome obstacles in forming the character of courtesy learning activities through civic education at grade IV SDN Singopadu 2016/2017 Lesson 2 years. This type of research is qualitative research. The technique of collecting data through observation, guided interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques in the form of an interactive model analysis by Miles and Huberman. The validity of the data using triangulation of sources and methods. Constraints in implementing learning civics in shaping the character of manners which include preschool experience, the level of intelligence of students in learning to develop the knowledge and skills, creativity students in developing a subject matter, student learning and motivation is lacking. Efforts to overcome obstacles in forming the character of manners through civic education learning activities in grade IV SDN Singopadu 2016/2017 Lesson 2 years with routine activities such as giving greetings to teachers, example of teacher as teacher give examples give greetings with all citizens in school, teachers like class conditioning can customize the students when learning activities underway, extracurricular activities the Scouts can give on the character formation of manners and discipline of students.
