Abstract

The soil clays in the village of Nambuhan, Purwodadi Grobogan, known to be highly unstable, if the rainy season soil will absorb too much water and become very mushy, when the dry ground would be too much to lose a lot of water and become very hard. There are many roads damaged roads, bumpy, cracked, and vanish. This research aims to find out whether with mixed soil with added ingredients mill will affect the nature of the physical and mechanical properties on soil clays with a percentage addition mill 3%, 6%, 9% and 12%. Physical properties Testing of soil and blend is done, test the moisture content, specific gravity, the boundaries of Atterberg, soil grain size and analysis. Mechanical testing carried out covering, test the standard Proctor test and consolidation. The physical properties of the soil test results obtained by the value of the original moisture content of 11.82%, weight 2.57 type, liquid limit 84.70%, plastic limits 33.35% 28.52% shrinkage limit, and plasticity index 51.35%. According to the AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) Nambuhan native land including group A-7-5, and according to USCS (Unified Soil Classification System) it contains the group CH. test results of soil mixed with mill 3%, 6%, 9% and 12% of the obtained value of moisture content, specific gravity, liquid limit, and plasticity index decrease, whereas the value limits and bounds plastic shrink up. Soil mixture according to the AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) contains the classification of A-7-5, and according to USCS (Unified Soil Classification System) it contains a group of MH. The test results of standard Proctor there is presence of a rise on heavy volume of dry, the largest increases occurred in the soil with a mixture of mill 12% of 1.30 gr/cm3, whereas in optimum water levels decline, the largest decline occurred in the soil with a mixture of mill 12% amounting to 29%. The test results to consolidate the acquired value 's of consolidation (Cv) increase, the biggest increase, the largest increases occurred in the soil with a mixture of mill 12% of 0.00756 cm2, whereas the value of/dt compression index (Cc) and settlement of consolidation (Sc) experienced a decline, the largest decline occurred in the soil with a mixture of mill 12%, the smallest of the Cc value obtained 0.41200 and the value of the smallest of Sc 0.12444 Cm.
