Abstract

Hedonist Lifestyle is a pattern of individual behavior that puts forward a life of pleasure and is directed to the quest for life's joy and only sees it as a form of happiness. Hedonist lifestyle influenced several factors one personality. Personality is using the Big Five Personality namely extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousnes, neuroticsm and openness to experience. This research specifically aims to find out the correlation between the components of the personality with the hedonist lifestyle and also know the effective contribution of each of the components against lifestyle hedonist. The method used is a quantitative method. The subject is a two-semester student of Faculty of Psychology Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta totalling 100 people taken with cluster random sampling techniques. Method of data collection using the scale of the Big Five personality Inventory and the scale of the hedonist lifestyle. Based on linear regression analysis results obtained by F R 0.545 7.955 and sig 0.000 (p < 0.01). This means that there is a very significant correlation between personality with a hedonist lifestyle. Then get a result that is the existence of very significant positive relationship between neuroticism hedonist lifestyle, there is a significant positive relationship between extraversion hedonist lifestyle, and there was a significant negative relationship between conscientiousness.The effective contribution of personality with neuroticism, extraversion and conscientiousness towards hedonist lifestyle of 25.23%.
