Abstract

At this time, computer network has been widely used in various fields and has experienced a very rapid development. Almost every company or organization using computer network. Therefore it is necessary to create a computer network with a better performance. From the analysis, Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) technique is a network concept that can provide maximum results both in terms of device efficiency, configuration, and network security used. In addition to using VLAN networks, many companies or organizations also apply the concept of Spanning Tree Protocol within the VLAN network. Spanning Tree Protocol used to overcome broadcast storm when companies or organization to apply the system of redundant in network devices. Although it has a good level of security but still needs to be tested with some attacks from outside parties. Some attacks that can disrupt VLAN and Spanning Tree Protocol network are VLAN Hopping and Spanning Tree Protocol Attack. In this research will be implementation of VLAN and Spanning Tree Protocol network using GNS 3 application and testing security system on VLAN and Spanning Tree Protocol network from VLAN Hopping and Spanning Tree Protocol Attack. From the results of the evaluation of the research, it will be seen how the implementation of VLAN and Spanning Tree Protocol network using GNS 3 and how the mitigation process can be done in case of VLAN Hopping and Spanning Tree Protocol Attack on VLAN and Spanning Tree Protocol network.
