Abstract
Cyclohexane is an intermediate product, which is used as a raw material for the manufacture of adipic acid and caprolactam which will be processed into nylon 6.6 and nylon 6. The preliminary design of cyclohexane will be established in Krakatau Steel Industrial area, Cilegon Banten with a land area of 17,440 m2 and total employees of 133 people. The production process of cyclohexane is carried out in fixed bed multitube reactor in operational condition of tempereature is 150°C and pressure 20 atm. The reaction process takes place in a gas-liquid phase in which the benzene is a liquid phase and hydrogen is a gas phase. The reaction process is non isothermal and non adiabatic and exothermic. In the production process, cyclohexane plant require benzene 8,737.4978 kg/hr and hydrogen 1,579.3698 kg/hr and catalyst 6,041.4615 kg. Furthermore, for the utility unit includes 76,109.2215 kg/hr of water supply obtained from Nadra reservoir, 2,552.7935 kg/hr saturated steam supply obtained from boiler with fuel oil fuel of 75.6293 l/hr, the compressed air requirement is 44.0383 m3/hour. The main power source of electricity needs is obtained from PLN and the generator set is used as a backup power with a capacity of 3,700 kW. The cyclohexane plant requires a fixed capital of Rp 414,954,120,626.15 and working capital of Rp 322,876,292,243.32. Based on the economical analysis of the factory preliminary, it was obtained profit before tax of Rp 227,466,766,184.09 per year and profit after tax Rp 170,600,074,638.07 per year with tax deduction of 25%. Percent Return On Investment (ROI) before tax 54,82% and after tax 41,11%. Pay Out Time (POT) before tax of 1.54 years and after tax of 1.96 years. Break Even Point (BEP) of 40.39%, Shut Down Point (SDP) of 29.51% and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) of 26.19%.
