Abstract

Based on the results of previous by Aji (2016) Sukodono land Sragen is a clay soil with high plasticity, with PI = 51.77% (more than 17%), LL = 86%, PL = 34.23%, it needs improvement soil, the improvements made by chemical soil stabilization, stabilization materials used are gypsum with the percentage of addition of 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, 10%. Test methods include test of physical properties and mechanical properties of soil aslidan mixed soil. Physical properties of soil and mixed soil properties showed specific gravity value and plastic limit, while water content, liquid limit, shrinkage limit, plastic index and pass filter No.200 decreased. The original and mixed soil classification based on the AASHTO method includes groups A-7-6. Under the original USCS and mixed soil methods include CH groups. In the compaction test as the percentage of dry gypsum weight of dry volume increased with the greatest value in the percentage of 10% gypsum mixture of 1,346 gr/cm3, while the optimum water content decreased with the smallest value at the percentage of 10% gypsum mixture of 23.5%. The Direct Shear Test test shows that the value of cohesion and friction angle value increases with the percentage of gypsum mixture, with the largest cohesion value in percentage of 10% gypsum mixture of 1,195 kg/cm2 and the highest friction angle value occurs in percentage of mixture 10% largest gypsum 14,57, while the value of gnormal and shear stress tends to increase, the normal stress value and the largest shear stress occurs at percentage of 10% gypsum addition.
