Abstract
Upper Respiratory Infections (URI) is a major health problem commonly found in Indonesia and is most common in children. The high prevalence of respiratory disease and its effect have traught the high consumption of tree drugs and antibiotics. This study aims to evaluate the use of antibiotics that include appropriate drugs, appropriate patients, appropriate dosage, precise indications in patients with upper respiratory infections (URI) of children in outpatient facilities RSUD Dr. Moewardi in 2015. This research is a non-experimental study conducted with data collection on outpatient medical records retrospectively according to age inclusion criteria 0-12 years, patients with respiratory dagnosis of outpatient installation of RSUD Dr. Moewardi 2015, complete medical record data and analyzed by descriptive method. Analyzed whit Pharmaceutical Care 2005 guidelines. The results showed that of 47 samples of children aged 0-12 years with upper respiratory infection diagnoses include otitis media 14 cases (29,8%), sinusitis 15 cases (31,9%), and pharyngitis 18 cases (38,3%), 47 cases (100%) were precise indications, 47 cases (100%) were appropriate drugs, 47 cases (100%) are proper patients, 15 cases (31,9%) precise doses, and 15 cases (31,9%) rationality in antibiotic use.
