Abstract
The incidence of Diabetes Mellitus increase with age, especially at age 65. Geriatric with Diabetes Mellitus is indirectly required to comply with the treatment received in order to achieve a standard glycemic value. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the oral hypoglycemic drugs treatment adherence level and to relate the effectiveness of therapy with adherence rate of patients with type 2 geriatric diabetes mellitus. This research used cross-sectional method by filling the questionnaire using (The 8-Item Morisky Medication Adherence Scale) and taking the patient's medical records data then presented in the form of percentage and correlation. Quantitative data processing uses SPSS and descriptive data using CMAG. The correlation between adherence and therapeutic effectiveness is evidenced by correlation strengths indicating that the value of 0,293 (p>0,05) can be interpreted that adherence and FGP values have a weak correlation. The significance value of 0,024 show that there is a significant correlation between the level of adherence and the value of FGP. The level of aherence and FGP values have negative relation indicating that the higher adherence’s value, the FGP values is minor.
