Abstract
This study aims to (1) Describe the use of conjunctions between clusters in compound sentences in the exposition of students in SMA Negeri 1 Mojolaban, (2) Analyzing the accuracy of the use of conjunctions between clusters in multi-layered sentences in the exposition of students in SMA Negeri 1 Mojolaban, and (3) Describe the impact of subordinate conjunction use on clarity of the contents of the paragraph on the exposition of students in SMA Negeri 1 Mojolaban. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative. Technique of data collecting using technique of refer to, then continued with technique note. The technique of data validity used is triangulation theory. Technique of data analysis using method of agih, technique of lesap, and technique of read markah. Based on the result of the research, there are 5 forms of subordinate conjunctive usage, subordinate conjunction causation, subordinative conjunction of requirement, subordinate conjunction of purpose, subordinate conjunction of timority, and subordinative conjunction of involvement. The accuracy of the use of subordinate conjunctions is found in subordinating conjunctions of causes, subordinative conjunctions of requirements, subordinative conjunctions of goals, subordinate conjunctions of timor, and subordinative conjunctive engagement. Inaccurate use of subordinate conjunctions is found in subordinate conjunctive conjunctions, subordinative conjunctions of requirements, subordinate conjunctive goals, and subordinative engagement conjunctions. The accuracy of the use of subordinate conjunctions has an impact on the clarity of the contents of the paragraph, namely kelogisan, coherence, austerity, and stability of meaning. The inaccurate use of conjunctions affects the obscurity of paragraph contents, ie there is no emphasis on the main idea, the paragraph becomes illogical, and the paragraph becomes ambiguous.
