Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe the character implementation of confidence and hard work in study groups in SMP Negeri 1 Wonosegoro. This study is a descriptive qualitative research. The data is collected through observation, interviews, and reviewing documents. The validate the data using triangulation of data sources and data collection techniques. Analyze the data used is interactive analysis techniques. The result of this study indicate an implementation confident character in study group can be done by giving the opportunity to students the problem in front of the class, doing repetition without cheating, instilling a brave attitude of choosing a challenge. While the implementation of hard work characters on study group by the provide independent tasks, divide the students into varied groups, provide an overview of the challenges to be faced, as well giving motivation and support for students able to compete with other students. Implementation 2 constraints confident characters on students groups, students feel alien in the classroom, afraid of wrong answer, and lazy. Implementation obstacle character of hard work on study groups, passive students, quitter, bored in learning. The solutions of the implementation constraits of confident characters is, provide rewards for students, independents tasks, provide a positive assessment of students abilities. While the solution obstacle implementation character of hard work is, independent task, set a good example for students, and using interesting methods or learning strategies to make learning fun.
