Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of cognitive abilities and ways of learning to the difficulties of students in doing the final examination of the financial accounting semester of Sharia Year 2016/2017 Year both persial and simultaneous. The type of research used is quantitative. Population in this research is student of accountancy education of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta Year of Teaching 2016/2017 which amounted to 170 smahasiswa with sample 115 student taken with sampling technique with simple random sampling. Data collection techniques using questionnaires that have been tested with validity and reliability test. Technical analysis of data used is multiple regression, t test, F test, effective contribution and relative donation. The conclusion that can be drawn from this research are: 1) there is significant influence between the cognitive aspect to the difficulty in doing the problem based on t test obtained t_hitung> t_tabel, that is -7,489> -1,658 and significant value <0.05, that is 0.000. 2) there is a significant influence between the way of learning to the difficulty in working out the problem based on t test obtained t_hitung> t_tabel, that is -4.785> -1,658 and significant value <0.05, that is 0.000. 3) there is significant influence between cognitive aspect and way of learning based on F test known F_hitung> F_table, 55,837> 3,924 with significant value 5%. The result of calculation for value R ^ 2 obtained 49,9% difficulties in doing the problem influenced by cognitive aspect and way of learning, the rest 50,1% influenced by other variable not examined in this research..
