Abstract
This study aims to: (1) Describe the teaching style of teachers based on multiple intelligences, (2) Describe the constraints faced by teachers in applying the teaching style based on multiple intelligences, and (3) Describe the solution to overcome obstacles in applying the teaching style based on multiple intelligences MI Muhammadiyah Special Program Kartasura. This type of research is qualitative research. Informants in this study were principals, guardian angel (vice principal), and classroom teachers. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through data reduction measures, data presentation, and conclusions. Technique examination of data validity is done by triangulation technique And sources. The results show that: (1) Authoritative teaching styles are in IIA classes as well as IICs, the democratic teaching styles are in IIA, IIB, IIC, IIIA, IIIB, IVA, VA, and VB classes, the personalized teaching styles are in class IIB, IIC, IIIA, IIIB, and VB, interactional teaching styles are in the VB class. As for the types of kinesthetic intelligence found in IIC, IIIA, IVA, and VB classes, linguistic intelligence found in class IIB, IIIB, and VA, visual-spatial intelligence found in class IIA and VA, interpersonal intelligence found in class IVA. In addition the teacher tries to create a fun learning by adjusting her teaching style with student learning style. Teachers also perform variations in teaching in the form of variations of voice, mobilization, facial mimic changes, eye gaze, silence, and also the use of ice breaking; (2) Obstacles in applying the teaching style of teachers based on multiple intelligences include: inadequate human resources, uneven infrastructure facilities in each class, the strategy used by teachers sometimes not acceptable students, teachers difficulty preparing the learning program because it must adapt to students , And students are difficult to set up; (3) The teacher's solution overcomes the obstacles of applying the teaching style based on multiple intelligences, ie: involving the teacher in the training and routinely doing sharing activities among the teachers, borrowing the infrastructure from other classes, giving ice breaking, games and motivation to enable the active students , And give punishment to students who are unruly in the form of saying istighfar or threats.
