Abstract
The major problem in this movie is how the society in England behaves toward the war between his country and Ireland. The objectives of the study are to analyze the structural elements of the movie and to identity the relation between the movie and social realities of the England in the late of twentieth century until early of twenty first century. The object of research paper is Tristan and Isolde movie. This study belongs to qualitative research. In this method, the researcher uses the data source: primary data and secondary data source. The primary data source is Tristan and Isolde movie, meanwhile the secondary data source is some references related to the research by picking up either from books and internets. The method of collecting data is done through documentation or library research. The Technique of data analysis are taking note the data, arranging the data, describing the data based on sociology theory. Based on the analysis, the writer draws conclusion. Tristan and Isolde movie explains that the people in the movie are willing to sacrifice their own interest for the sake of their kingdom. The main character, Tristan shows the act of Patriotism. He is willing to leave his girl friend, Isolde, to fight against the enemy of his country. There is a correlation between the underlying theory, the social historical background of England society, and also the structural element of the movie.
