Abstract

Increasing the competition to get a job makes an anxiety phenomenon in the final year students who will enter the workforce. One of the factors that can influence it is personal toughness. This study aims to determine the relationship between hardiness with anxiety in facing the world of work at the final grade students, knowing the level of hardiness in the final grade students. Know the level of anxiety facing the world of work at the final level students. Researchers use quantitative research methods and data collection using incidental sampling. The subjects used are final year students at 12 Faculty of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta with total data of 95 subject. The results obtained conclusion there is a very significant negative relationship between personal toughness with anxiety facing the world of work at college students end. The result is shown by the result of rxy = -0.378 with sig. = 0,000; (P <0.001). The level hardiness variable belongs to high category with Empirical Mean (RE) = 101,24 and Hypotetic Average (RH) = 80, whereas in the anxiety variables belonging to low category with Empirical Mean (RE) = 62,71 and Hypotetic Average (RH) = 75. Effective contribution between hardiness with anxiety of 14,3% indicated by correlation (r2) = 0,143
