Abstract

This research uses descriptive qualitative research type whose data comes from Rubric Opinion Newspaper Compass Edition March 2017. Technique of data collecting is done by using technique of recall and technique of note. Data analysis using the method of padan with pragmatic pad technique. This study has three objectives. (1) To describe the form of representative speech acts in the rubric of opinion of Kompas newspaper in March 2017 edition. (2) To identify the function of representative speech act in the opinion rubric of Kompas newspaper in March 2017 edition. (3) To describe the application of representative speech act in the rubric of opinion of Kompas newspaper Edition of March 2017 as Indonesian language teaching materials in high school. There are three things that are presented in this research. (1) There is a form of representative speech act found in the Rubric of Opinion of Kompas newspaper in March 2017 Edition in the form of sentence. The amount of data found is 78 data. (2) Representative speech acts found in Composite Newspaper Rubric Edition March 2017 Edition. There are five functions of representative speech act found in the rubric of opinion opinion Kompas newspaper edition March 2017. a) Declare, a number of 18 data. b) Suggest, a total of 27 data. c) Bragging, a total of 2 data. d) Complaining, a total of 18 data. e) Claim or claim, 13 data. (3) The research on representative speech acts in the discourse of Kompas edition of March 2017 edition can be used as an alternative to innovative teaching materials in SMA XII class on materials producing opinion text. This is relevant to basic competence 4.2 produces historical texts, news, advertisements, editorials / opinions, and novels both orally and in writing.
