Abstract

Klaten Eco Friendly Youth Rumah Karya is a place that became the center of activities related to the development of adolescents, especially through the production activities either in the form of goods or science located in the city of Klaten. This building accommodates the activities that are developing youth mental and health such as sports activities, arts and crafts. The city of Klaten itself was chosen because of the rampant brawl, raid, wild race and other negative activities conducted by the youth (15-30 years). With this House of Work the youth have a space that can accommodate their activities based on interests and talents. In addition youth can also get creative education so they will ready for work. This talent interest activity is accommodated by basketball court, skate park, soccer court, gym, music studio, dance studio and theater, while creative education activities are accommodated by music classes, dance and theater classes, handicraft classes as well as libraries. The building of Klaten Eco Friendly Youth Rumah Karya also uses used material or waste materials such as wasted wooden furniture used as wall covering and floor, used window as wall scopes, used steel as building structures, former cement sacks as roof components and bamboo plaster as a wall scoping. Rumah Karya also uses waste water treatment system of grey water and rain water. Thus this building can be environmentally friendly building as well as to give understanding to the users about the sustainability of the environment.
