Abstract
Batik industry is one of energy-intensive industries. Where the production process still has a great dependence on fuel (fuelwood and gas) and high electricity usage. In addition, assessed the inefficiency of energy use in the production process that affects the production output of the company. With the inefficiency in batik production process can reduce the economic value caused by the increase of production cost. The purpose of this research is to identify the energy usage of SME Batik Laweyan, to determine energy consumption to produce one meter of batik cloth, and to do efficiency analysis and cost analysis to recommend improvement in order to save energy. Analysis of energy use is calculated based on energy usage in every stage of batik production process that is tasting, coloring, washing, pelorodan and washing after pelorodan. The result of the research shows the energy consumption in SME Batik Putra Laweyan for 19557.22 kJ / meter for rhemasol and 19547 Kj/Meter for naptol dyes, while for indigosol dye is 19575.71 kJ / Meter. And from the data processing, it is known that the value of energy efficiency in the batik production process is still relatively small so it needs recommendation in the framework of energy saving.
