Abstract
The aims of this study is to describe: 1. The role of headmaster in increasing teacher professioal competency in SD Negeri 1 Manjung, 2. Implementation of increasing teacher professional competency in SD Negeri 1 Manjung, and 3) Efforts made by the headmaster in improving the teacher professioal competency in SD Negeri 1 Manjung, Sawit Boyolali Academic Year 2016/2017. The kind of this research is qualitative. Techniques of collecting data using interviews, observation, and documentation. Validity data using triangulation. Data analysis techniques through interactive analysis. The results shows that: 1. Role of headmaster in increasing teacher professioal competency in SD Negeri 1 Manjung, Boyolali Sawit Year of Education 2016/2017 are: a. Headmaster as educators in charge of directing and transforming their knowledge to their students. b. The headmaster as a manager has the right strategy to empower educational personnel through: cooperative cooperation, provide opportunities for education personnel to improve their profession, and encourage the involvement of all education personnel in various activities that support the school program. c. Principal as a supervisor can know the weaknesses as well as excellence of teachers in implementing learning, then pursued solutions, coaching and certain advanced so that teachers can improve the existing deficiencies while maintaining its superiority in implementing learning. 2. Implementation of increasing teacher professioal competency in SD Negeri 1 Manjung, Sawit Boyolali Lesson 2016/2017 are: a. mastering materials, structures, concepts, and scientific thinking patterns that support the subjects that are taught, b. mastering the competency standard and basic competence of subjects / Field of development, c. develop creative learning materials, d. develop professionalism in a sustainable manner by doing reflective actions, e. utilizing information and communication technology to communicate and develop themselves. 3. Principal Efforts in improving the professional competence of teachers in SD Negeri 1 Manjung, Sawit Boyolali Lesson 2016/2017 is conducted through: a. Improvement of professional skills of teachers by following KKG (Teacher Working Group), b. Clinical Supervision, c. Improvement of teacher work motivation by giving impetus to progress, appreciation or duty, principal attention, and d. Teacher performance coaching.
