Abstract

Scoliosis is the lateral curvature of the spine accompanied by trunk rotation (Gutknecht, 2009). Scoliosis of three-dimensional spinal disorders, can be: primary curve (resembling the letter C), or two curves (forming the letter S).Idiopathic scoliosis is common in the community, the prevalence of scoliosis in children ages 10-15 is 2-3% of all cases. It is expected that with this study the prevalence of scoliosis physiotherapy can provide education and prevention of increased scoliosis in school students. This researchto determine the prevalence of scoliosis at primary school level of junior high school.This research uses observational research with quantitative descriptive design. Respondents in this study were state elementary school students source 2, junior high school 1 colomadu college vocational school hopes kartasura. Research sample of 300 students with each 100 per school. Scoliosis measurement using a scoliometer.After the measurement of scoliosis in school students as many as 300 students there are results of 5 elementary school students experiencing scoliosis, 4 junior high school students experiencing scoliosis and 0 high school students who have scoliosis.Prevalence of scoliosis based on education level is 5% at elementary school level, 4% at junior high school level and 0% at high school level.
