Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the application of image media to improve the language skills of children deaf in speech at SLB BYRTWR School Gumunggung Surakarta. 2016/2017.The method of this research is descriptive qualitative using the kind of research study type to deaf children speech at SLB B YRTRW Gumunggung Surakarta.The subject of this research is a child in kindergarten SLB B YRTRW who has been impaired a language ability,named Sauqi. Data collection techniques by observation, interview and documentation.The results show Sauqi is hard to convey what he wants to say, does not have many vocabulary, hard to remember and talk only with lip movements alone, not using the emphasis that makes a sound.This shows that Sauqi is having difficulties in his language skills, after being treated by learning with the image media, Sauqi is able to express what he sees through the images given by the teacher, It has trained his memory, and adds new vocabulary, then Sauqi Able to speak with a fairly clear and true voice.
