Abstract

Rembang regency located in the eastern tip of Central Java Province which is directly adjacent to East Java Province so that it becomes connecting path between the Provinces. Located directly adjacent to the Java Sea makes the potential of a strategic area for the local economy and tourist attraction. As a Regency that has 14 Districts with various tourism potentials in the field of maritime and religion, considered Rembang has not maximize the potential of the region, especially in the economic field. To improve the economy and stability of the community's financial turnover, the government of Rembang Regency plans to build a mall to open investment opportunities, but people around the market especially Rembang City who reject the existence of the development plan to build a mall that assess it make the traditional market being quiet. Rembang Ocean Mall is one of the design planning that is expected to solve the problem. The purpose of Rembang Ocean Mall is to create a shopping and entertainment center with ocean concept that can accommodate and sell local products so it is not to harm the small traders. In addition, the presence of this mall can to be icon of Rembang regency as also a santri city with the mosque facilities.
