Abstract

Cumulative Trauma Disorders complaint is a complaint that may arise due to the accumulation of small damages as a result of repeated trauma that forms the considerable damage and cause pain. Cumulative Trauma Disorders occur in jobs with repetitive motions/monotonous, excessive use of force and awkward posture in cigarette manufacturing workers. This research aims to know the correlation between work posture to the Cumulative Trauma Disorders complaint in cigarette manufacturing workers in PT. Panen Boyolali. The method of this research is observational quantitative using cross sectional approach. The sampling technique using simple random sampling with lottery method obtained the number of samples are 54 respondents from total population of 120 respondents. Measurements of work posture using RULA method and measurement of Cumulative Trauma disorders using Nordic Body Map. Data were analyzed by using Rank Spearman test with significant level (α≤0.050). Result showed that there is a significant correlation between work posture with Cumulative Trauma Disorders complaints (p = 0,000) and (r = 0,475). Conclusion in this study, there is a significant correlation between work posture and Cumulative Trauma Disorders complaints with correlation value show that medium correlation. In recommended to the company to redesign work desks and chairs according to the anthropometry of workers and to the worker to improve posture and relax every two hours to reduce muscle tension and reduce Cumulative Trauma Disorders risk.
