Abstract
Swing device on the excavator is a useful component to move upperstructur unit to rotate by 360o. Swing device is divided into several components, among others: Swing motor, swing brake, and swing reducer. This analysis aims to determine the working mechanism of each component on the swing device and the magnitude of the forces that work. Swing motor is a component that converts pressure from main pump to mechanical movement, Swing brake functions to engage and disengage clucth and disk that serves to release cylinder block and lock cylinder block on swing motor, Swing reducer functions to reduce rotation of motor swing but increase torque So swing device can play upperstructur of excavator. The results of the analysis, the forces that work on motor swing like torque of 173,072 Nm obtained mechanical efficiency of 97.97%, flow rate of 0.0106 m3 / minute obtained volumetric efficiency of 82.25%, and overall efficiency in motor swing equal to 80.68%. Then the speed ratio and reduction of the swing reducer are 1.05 and -48.95 rpm at the first level and 1.04 and -38.51 rpm at the second level. Then there will be the amount of torque, tangential velocity, and nominal load on planetary gear swing reducer gear.
