Abstract

Background: Breast milk is the fat emulsion fluid secreted from mother’s gland mammae. Most of breastfeeding mothers do not know how to breastfeed properly and how to express the milk. Therefore lactation management health education is important to provide knowledge for breastfeeding mothers. The aim of this study is to find out the influence of lactation postnatal manajament health education on breastfeeding behavior. Methods: This study use pre experiment study and one group pretest-posttest study design for 43 breastfeeding mother samples. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with questionnaire breastfeeding behavior instrument. The analysis used is univariate and bivariate analysises. RESULTS: Mothers who only given lactation magement pretest have an average value as much as (16,30), while mothers who given lactation management pretest-posttest have an average value as much as (18,19). Based on Wilcoxon test, it show that p-value less than 0,005. Conclusion: There is an influence of lactation postnatal management health education on breastfeeding behavior. Mothers after given health education show average value higher than mothers before given lactation postnatal management health education.
