Abstract

The purpose of this study were: (1) to describe the forms of speech acts refusal contained in Kos Seruni III, Pabelan, Kartasura. (2) Describe the implementation of the cooperative principle and politeness principle in denial in Kos Seruni III, Pabelan, Kartasura. This study is a qualitative descriptive study. Subjects in this study were Kos Seruni III Pabelan Kartasura. The object of this study is the language of refusal speech acts in Kos Seruni III in Pabelan, Kartasura. The data collection phase of the method used is the method refer to. Advanced technique used is the technique capable refer Engaged (SLC), a technique capable refer to free Engaged (SBLC), and the technical note. The final results the authors obtained by this study are: (1) A linguistic form of rejection in Kos Seruni III, Pabelan, Kartasura there are seven forms of the language of rejection is as follows: (a) The refusal by gesturing nonverbal including shaking of heads, silent, and using hand signals when answering free to reject or accept the offer provided, (b) The refusal by using the comments when answering doubts about the truth of something that is expressed by the speaker, (c) The refusal by using origin or choice. This rejection is konsruktif because it provides an alternative to the inviting when the speaker in this case was considered not only rejected but was given another possibility to help solve the problem. (b) The refusal to use thanks when answering feel cared for, was offered a service and others while telling her that she has been able to solve their own problems. (c) The refusal to use the terms or conditions when answering meet anyway solicitation, offer or request it. (d) The refusal to use reason when answering demonstrate their concern for the inviting, although slightly. (e) The refusal to use the word or its equivalent, not before, no, and not if the disclosure was not preceded word of apology. (f) Follow-said direct-indirect speech acts, (g) Follow-literal speech acts literal speech acts, (h) Follow-said locutions, illocutionary and perlocutions. (2) The classification is based on the implementation of the maxim, including: (a) Implementation of the principle of cooperation, (b) implementation of the principle of courtesy.
