Abstract

The number of motor vehicles output current with a compression ratio between 9:1-11:1 should be supported by high-octane fuel in order to avoid knocking or detonation in the combustion chamber due to high compression pressure. It should be fuel consumption adjustable compression ratio. Because too low a fuel specification will result in reduced power, whereas if too high is not maximal performance. In this study will examine the effect of using octane booster using naphthalene reactor in Yamaha Mio 155 cc, which in this experimental study test using dynamometer to know motorcycle performance to torque, power and fuel consumption. This experimental study intends to know and analyze the effect of naphthalene ie 3,395 cm3 / seed, 1,707 cm3 / seed and pounded randomly, with fuel of Pertalite. From the test results comparing the use of 100% of pertalite fuel with additional variations of naphthalene has increased torque and significant power and there is a decrease in fuel consumption in the engine rpm 2000 rpm to 4500 rpm. The use of peripheral fuel plus a naphthalene reactor where randomly, crushed naphthalene produces maximum torque and power of 9,36 Nm dan 6.07 kW at 6000 rpm and 7000 rpm.
