Abstract

In the world of automotive industry needs a method to connect the material with other material. One of the methods of grafting material is a brazing method. Connection of different materials is a new thing. The grafting can improve the efficiency of material is very prevalent in the industrialized world. Grafting with different material because it is not easy to have different properties. The research combines the 2mm thick aluminum and aluminum 2mm with filler / filler alusol. This study aims to determine the mechanical strength and metallographic results on different connections using filler material alusol. The standards used for the manufacture of specimen size is ASTM D 1002, tensile testing of raw material using the standard ASTM E8, to test standard hardness using ASTM standard 92, while the standard for testing and miikro macro photographs using ASTM standard E3 / E7.Pada tensile testing of raw material aluminum has an average tensile strength of 112.53 N / mm2, and the average strain produced 3.58%. Shear testing on brazed 3053.68 N, the specimen while the specimen 2 2961,7 N 3 N.3000,16 can 3 in average 3005.18 N. microhardnes pasa vickers hardness testing of specimens to get the highest hardness on basemetal Besim while violence was lowest for the region HAZ aluminum. At the macro can be seen testing showed that the granules contained in the aluminum and aluminum specimens using alusol filler has a finer sizes and smaller than the material without using a filler. Based on the science of mechanical metallurgy, the smaller the grain size of the material, the more hard and brittle
