Abstract

This study aims to explore the expression of emotional fluctuation of love poem in Robert Browning’s poems Men and Women and Other Poems. The objective of the research is to analyze the poetry based on its structural elements and to analyze the poetry based on psychological perspective. The researcher employs a qualitative method. In this method, the researcher uses two data sources, namely primary and secondary data sources. The primary data source are poetry One Word More, Love Among the Ruins, By the Fire-Side, My Star, Any Wife to any Husband, In a Year. The secondary data sources are reference and material related to the study. The method of data collection is library research and the technique of data collection is descriptive technique. The study comes to the following conclusion. In this research consist of two outcome. First outcome is structural element. It consists of speaker, spoken to, imagery, symbol, figures of speech, metrical scansion and theme. Secondly, the psychological analysis shows that there is unstable emotion during the relationship of husband-wife relation.
