Abstract
This study aims to determine the level of difficulty problem solving problems in textbooks of mathematics students in high school XI-Class 2013 curriculum. Especially in the book of mathematics package class XI specialization by Novianto Kurnia et al published by Yudhisthira with the year published 201. Type of research method is research qualitative. The data in this study are problem solving questions analyzed by type and the characteristics of the questions that contain the type of number, type and use of the operation, many questions, data adequacy, and similarity of questions. Data collection techniques through content analysis. While the data analysis techniques with data reduction, data resentation, and conclusions. The results of the analysis show that: 1) There are 194 items of problem solving from 821 items in the whole book, 2) There are 95.8% of routine problem solving problems and 4.2% of non-routine problem solving problems, 3) In the student book Mathematics lessons on problem solving using 14.9% counting, 8.2% negative number, 36.1% decimal number and 40.8% fraction, 4) Many problems that have more than one operation, adequacy The data on the matter counted completely, and some problems exist that are similar to the previous problem. From the analysis of each problem solving problem can be concluded the percentage of difficulty level of the problem. Percentage of problem difficulty level in easy category was 13.4%, moderate category was 59.3%, and the difficult category was 27.3%. Of the percentage of the book students math subjects including having a proportion of the level of difficulty a good question.
