Abstract

Along with the increasing development of an area, it will also increase the demand for transportation infrastructure. Therefore, the planning and development needs to be laid out to a whole integrated system. Terminal is an important element in facilitating the transport system as well as an infrastructure that facilitate the mobilization of people and goods from one place to another. Besides the construction of the terminal is also considered to be a core growth foster for other economic activity around the area of the terminal. The impact of the terminal construction needs to know in order to determine the development policy in the future. This study aims to determine the economic impact of development community around the Ir Sukarno terminal, Klaten regency. The analytical method was used Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the sampling technique is judgment sampling. The results showed that the construction of the terminal impact on the socio-economic progress with a weighting of (0.522). In socio-economic progress criteria, terminal construction resulted in an increase incomes with weights (0.498). The economic sectors that provide the bigger contribution is tertiary economic sectors with weights (0.489).
