Abstract

Scholarship is a financial aid that comes from various non-academical sponsor and addressed for an underprivileged student with a great accomplishments. To determine which student get the scholarship, selection process is either being held by the sponsor or the university. But human contribution might affect the selection process with subjective aspects that comes from human trait as a social creature who could be influenced by bias with certain reasons. The goal of this research is to create a web-based fuzzy logic system which can be used to help scholarship applicants selection process. In this research, MFIS (Mamdani Fuzzy Interference System) method is used as the fuzzified data processor which is written in Python and built on Django Framework as the web-service platform. The system developed with Waterfall SDLC and tested with Black-Box testing method. On the algorithm validity test, the produced web application score a low point of error rate which is 7.69% and 92.31% validity in simulated case. Black box test result shows that the system is already fulfill the functional needs, and UAT (User Acceptance Test) shows good response from user to the application design.
