Abstract

In this disaster learning students still passive because students do not know the disaster and how to save themselves in the event of a disaster. Students are trained to actively develop themselves in the knowledge of kebencanan that exist in the local area. The high levels of student engagement in learning may affect mastery of the subject matter of disaster. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the learning model Problem Based Learning on teaching materials windstorm disaster in class X SMK Negeri 1 Klaten districts Trucuk academic year 2015/2016. This type of research is an experimental research. Data collection technique used documentation techniques and test engineering. Data were analyzed using independent sample t test. The result showed that the class of Problem Based Learning average learning outcomes of disaster whirlwind of 78.47, while the control class (lecture) with an average of learning outcomes in disaster whirlwind 73.94. Based on the hypothesis test score average of learning outcomes windstorm disaster obtained significance value 0.975> 0,05 so that H0 is accepted, so there is no difference in the average score of learning outcomes. From this study it can be concluded that learning Problem Based Learning there are no significant effectiveness used in learning study results are less optimal windstorm disaster in class X SMK Trucuk Klaten second semester of the 2015/2016 academic year.
