Abstract
The objective of this research is to describe the implementation of teaching English using storybook reading technique to the fourth year students of SD N 1 Sumberagung. In the implementation of teaching English using storybook reading at the fourth year students of SD N 1 Sumberagung, the researcher discusses objectives, material, media, and teaching learning activities. The writer discusses the strengths and the weaknesses of the teaching English using storybook reading. The writer used qualitative research to describe or to explain teaching English using storybook reading to the fourth year students of SD N 1 Sumberagung. The result of observation shows that storybook reading in teaching English can improve the students vocabulary. It is also more effective for elementary school because it makes the students enjoy the English lesson. Beside it can motivate the students to involve actively in learning vocabulary in the classroom. Key words : teaching English and storybook
